    ACE Negotiations Update 4.12.16

    Members,

    In the last ACE newsletter, we mentioned that ACE asked for a 6% COLA from the District and an additional 1% be added to the salary schedule for step 7. The District responded with a 2% COLA and agreed to an additional 1% to step 7.

    Since then, we have reached a tentative agreement on health benefits where there will be no increase to health care premiums for the 2016-2017 year and some additional language regarding layoffs. Our negotiations have been stalled regarding the COLA as the District wanted to finalize with FA before agreeing to any other economic terms from ACE. Yesterday, Monday, April 11th at 4 p.m., the District and FA verbally agreed to a 3% COLA.

    We are meeting with the District on April 20th with the intention of wrapping up our negotiations.

    General Membership Meeting

    General membership meetings will be held next week to discuss the proposed changes. Lunch will be served. An Outlook invite will be sent to you with the location for each meeting.

    Ratification Vote

    An online benefits MOU ratification vote is scheduled for ACE Full Dues Paying Members ONLY beginning at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, July 28 through Monday, August 2 at noon. A separate email with your unique voting credentials will be emailed to you next week.

    Not a full paying dues member? You still have time to have your voice heard. Fill out the Dues Membership Application and return it to ACE President, Blanche Monary at monaryblanche@fhda.edu NO LATER THAN 5 p.m. on Monday, July 27.

    2014 -2015 Articles Open for Negotiation

    For 2014-2015, the full ACE Agreement was open for negotiations.  It was set to expire Oct. 31, 2014, but ACE and the District agree the current agreement will remain effect until either it is renegotiated or the parties have exhausted the impasse procedures.

     

    ACE opened the following articles:

    • Article 5: Union Business
    • Article 7: Employment Practices
    • Article 8: Pay and Allowances
    • Article 9: Holidays and Vacations
    • Article 10: Leaves
    • Article 11: Layoff
    • Article 13: Hours and Overtime
    • Article 14.7: Travel and Conference Fund
    • Article 15:  Classification and Reclassification

    The District opened:

    • Article 4: Temporary Work
    • Article 8: Pay and Allowances
    • Article 15: Classification and Reclassification
